The Grandmoulin (large mill) is one of the best bread knives available. Thinner sharpened and lighter than Güde bread knives.
The total length of the knife is 36.5 centimeters, the blade is made of hardened stainless chrome-molybdenum-vanadium steel and is 23 centimeters long. The handle is made of olive wood.
The Grandmoulin is part of the "Unique pieces by tradition" series, which includes a small range of knives with a special history, shape and traditional craftsmanship. Grandmoulin means "big mill" and a big windmill knife it really is with its 370 mm total length. Elegance, high functionality and first class materials combined with the finest craftsmanship are the most outstanding features of this bread saw knife. "Boscher" is the name of the blade shape. This name is derived from the Dutch word "Bos", which means bush or scrubland. It was exactly there, in the sugar cane fields of the Dutch colonies, that it was made as a harvest knife. The exceptionally wide blade has a very good straight cut, even if you want to cut very thin slices of bread. The curved curve of the blade corresponds to the continuation of the natural swaying hand movement when cutting. This makes it so pleasant to handle. The knife is equipped with a highly ground, hand-polished, wide "8 mm Langian wave", one of the best wave cuts of enormous cutting durability. Because of this shaft, the individual teeth on the cutting edge are thinner than with conventional serrated edges. This makes them many times sharper, but also somewhat more sensitive. Small burrs, which can form in the individual teeth during use, are completely normal with this serrated edge and do not detract from the high cutting ability. The result of all these properties is an incredibly sharp, long-lasting bread saw blade.
